Biography

Renee Asteria's "sunny live sound is similar to Kate Bush, Lene Lovich, Portishead & Sade peppered with tropical sounding Latin and reggae beats" (Dano). The New Jersey-born, France dwelling artist of Bolivian-Dutch descent draws her inspiration from lessons learned during her travels, studies and fieldwork. She has collaborated with musicians from Argentina, Bolivia, USA, Europe and Africa.

In 2007, Renee Asteria a.k.a. Agent Double E, completed her second recording entitled "Faces of Agent Double E" with Matias Martyn (Tibetan Monkey) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The production was released live on Rock&Pop FM (95.5 FM Buenos Aires) and was followed by a 6-month tour of the USA where Renee Asteria performed with local bands in New York City, Connecticut, California and Louisiana. She is currently promoting the project in Europe.

Renee Asteria's goal in music is to perform and produce while disseminating messages of social justice and promoting actions of practical solidarity. Renee's background in public health and her work experience in South and Central America has graced her with a strong commitment to doing something for the common good.
